Dayara Bugyal is beautiful meadow/ pastoral land situated in the bhatwari bloc at the elevation of 3500-4000m above sea level. One of the beautiful trek that one can do.

you can start your trek from either Raithal village or from Barsu village, you will come across to rest point Barnala from Barsu’s side and Go from Raithal’s side if you wish to spend more time around the village you can camp at these to rest point for the day and start your rest of the journey next day.

Dayara is about a 7-8km trek to the beautiful meadow. The best to visit is in the month of August- October. You can also go to Dodital lake, Gidara Bugyal, Surya top after reaching Dayara, it might take more days and more itinerary.

The canopy walk between lush green forests, wildflowers, beautiful landscape is very astonishing, as you keep walking towards the meadow you can also spot rhododendron flowers which is our state tree.

I was 21 when I first went on the trek to Dayara with my friends and the journey was very exquisite. We pitched our tents, collected pile of wood for the bonfire and for cooking our meals, went nearby to explore more spotted some alluring peak like Bandarpunch and other Himalayan ranges and also Bakra top which is near to Dayara from where you can see UTTARKASHI town and some other nearby helmets and did star gazing, interacted with Shepard’s and got to know more about their lifestyle. Since then I’ve visited Dayara 7-8 times out of which 5 times I’ve been as a guide.

You can also visit Dayara for the unique butter festival or also called butter holi celebrated by localities. Butter Holi is a festival in which the local dwellers smear milk, butter, buttermilk, or ‘chaanch’ on each other. From elderly to young nobody misses a chance to get drenched in the pristine white color. The youngsters put on a religious theatrical performance for the villagers to feast on. The performers wear elaborate attires and perform skits of Lord Krishna and Radha. Children also participate in the cultural programs, make merry and enrapture themselves in the festive spirit.

The shepherds express gratitude to mother nature for nursing their livestock. They thank the pastures for providing quality fodder to their cattle and also for their safe survival in the meadows of Dayara.

During winters you can also make your visit to Dayara for skiing purpose, the numerous slopes and heavy snow makes it best for ski thought there is no infrastructure for ski but the trekkers and skier comes to Dayara because of its natural beauty.

The thing to keep in mind while heading for the trek.

Good pair of shoes because ankle twist would be the last thing you want to happen to you on a trek.

First Aid and Medicines- keep all essential meds with you and ORS as well.

packed lunch if you are going on a short trek and proper ration including proteins, carbs if you are planning for 2 or more days.

choose an appropriate campsite which should not be too close to the river or too deep in them because you will definitely don’t want to enjoy the company of wild animals around you during the night.

Plucking of wildflowers and eating jungle fruit coz you will definitely risk your life if you eat any wild fruit with any knowledge of it and wildflowers can be poisonous at times.

Avoid trekking during monsoon because you can meet unforeseen danger like getting stuck because of some landslide or erosion of trek due to heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, cloud burst, etc.

Never leave your trash behind, or through it anywhere during the trek. Dispose of your trash appropriately after returning back.

Choose a local guide if you are not familiar with the trek.

दयारा बुग्याल समुद्र तल से ३५००-४००० मीटर की ऊंचाई पर भटवारी ब्लॉक में स्थित सुंदर घास का मैदान / देहाती भूमि है। खूबसूरत ट्रेक में से एक जो कोई भी कर सकता है।
आप अपना ट्रेक या तो रायथल गाँव से शुरू कर सकते हैं या बरसू गाँव से, आप बरनाल फॉर्म रायथल की ओर से विश्राम स्थल और बरसू की ओर से गोई तक पहुँचेंगे यदि आप गाँव के आसपास अधिक समय बिताना चाहते हैं तो आप विश्राम स्थल के लिए इन पर शिविर लगा सकते हैं। दिन और अगले दिन अपनी बाकी यात्रा शुरू करें।
दयारा सुंदर घास के मैदान के लिए लगभग 7-8 किमी का ट्रेक है। यात्रा करने के लिए सबसे अच्छा अगस्त-अक्टूबर के महीने में है। आप दयारा पहुंचने के बाद डोडीताल झील, गिदरा बुग्याल, सूर्या टॉप भी जा सकते हैं, इसमें अधिक दिन और अधिक यात्रा कार्यक्रम लग सकते हैं।

हरे भरे जंगलों, जंगली फूलों, सुंदर परिदृश्य के बीच चंदवा चलना बहुत ही आश्चर्यजनक है, जैसे आप घास के मैदान की ओर चलते रहते हैं, आप रोडोडेंड्रोन फूल भी देख सकते हैं जो हमारा राज्य वृक्ष है।

मैं २१ साल का था जब मैं पहली बार अपने दोस्तों के साथ दयारा की यात्रा पर गया था और यात्रा बहुत ही शानदार थी। हमने अपने तंबू लगाए, अलाव के लिए लकड़ी का ढेर इकट्ठा किया और अपना खाना पकाने के लिए, बंदरपंच और अन्य हिमालय पर्वतमाला जैसे कुछ आकर्षक शिखर का पता लगाने के लिए पास गए और साथ ही बकरा टॉप जो दयारा के पास है जहाँ से आप उत्तरकाशी शहर देख सकते हैं और पास के कुछ अन्य हेलमेट और स्टार टकटकी लगाए, शेपर्ड के साथ बातचीत की और उनकी जीवन शैली के बारे में अधिक जानकारी प्राप्त की। घर वापस आने के दिन हमने लाल रंग का सूर्योदय देखा जो हमारी आंखों को बहुत सुकून देने वाला था।

तब से मैंने 7-8 बार दयारा का दौरा किया है, जिसमें से 5 बार मैं एक मार्गदर्शक के रूप में रहा हूं।

आप अद्वितीय बटर फेस्टिवल के लिए दयारा भी जा सकते हैं या इसे स्थानीय लोगों द्वारा मनाई जाने वाली बटर होली भी कहा जाता है। बटर होली एक ऐसा त्योहार है जिसमें स्थानीय निवासी एक दूसरे पर दूध, मक्खन, छाछ या ‘चांच’ लगाते हैं। बूढ़े से लेकर जवान तक कोई भी सफेद रंग में सराबोर होने का मौका नहीं छोड़ता। ग्रामीणों ने दावत देने के लिए युवाओं ने धार्मिक नाट्य प्रदर्शन किया। कलाकार विस्तृत पोशाक पहनते हैं और भगवान कृष्ण और राधा की स्किट करते हैं। बच्चे भी सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों में भाग लेते हैं, मस्ती करते हैं और उत्सव की भावना में खुद को रोमांचित करते हैं।

चरवाहे अपने पशुओं की देखभाल के लिए प्रकृति माँ का आभार व्यक्त करते हैं। वे अपने मवेशियों को गुणवत्तापूर्ण चारा उपलब्ध कराने और दयारा के घास के मैदानों में उनके सुरक्षित अस्तित्व के लिए चारागाहों को धन्यवाद देते हैं।

सर्दियों के दौरान आप स्कीइंग के उद्देश्य से दयारा की यात्रा भी कर सकते हैं, कई ढलान और भारी बर्फ स्की के लिए सबसे अच्छा बनाती है सोचा स्की के लिए कोई बुनियादी ढांचा नहीं है लेकिन ट्रेकर्स और स्कीयर अपनी प्राकृतिक सुंदरता के कारण दयारा आते हैं।
ट्रेक के लिए जाते समय इन बातों का ध्यान रखें।

जूते की अच्छी जोड़ी क्योंकि टखने का मोड़ आखिरी चीज होगी जो आप ट्रेक पर अपने साथ करना चाहते हैं।

प्राथमिक उपचार और दवाएं- सभी आवश्यक दवाएं अपने पास और ओआरएस भी रखें।

यदि आप 2 या अधिक दिनों के लिए योजना बना रहे हैं तो पैक लंच यदि आप एक छोटे ट्रेक और प्रोटीन, कार्ब्स सहित उचित राशन पर जा रहे हैं।

नियोजित मार्ग मानचित्र ताकि आप खो न जाएं।

एक उपयुक्त शिविर का चयन करें जो नदी के बहुत करीब या उनमें बहुत गहरा न हो क्योंकि आप निश्चित रूप से रात के दौरान अपने आसपास के जंगली जानवरों की कंपनी का आनंद नहीं लेना चाहेंगे।

वाइल्डफ्लावर को तोड़ना और जंगल के फल खाने से आप निश्चित रूप से अपनी जान जोखिम में डालेंगे यदि आप किसी जंगली फल को इसके बारे में जानते हैं और वाइल्डफ्लावर कई बार जहरीले हो सकते हैं।

मानसून के दौरान ट्रेकिंग से बचें क्योंकि आप अप्रत्याशित खतरे का सामना कर सकते हैं जैसे भारी बारिश, गरज, बिजली, बादल फटने आदि के कारण किसी भूस्खलन या ट्रेक के कटाव के कारण फंस जाना आदि।

ट्रेक के दौरान कभी भी अपने कूड़ेदान को पीछे न छोड़ें, या इसके माध्यम से कहीं भी न छोड़ें। वापस लौटने के बाद अपने कूड़ेदान का उचित निपटान करें।

यदि आप ट्रेक से परिचित नहीं हैं तो स्थानीय गाइड चुनें
